 With its slender, elongated form and enchanting swimming behavior, this fish adds a unique flair to your aquatic setup. Originating from the gentle waters of Southeast Asia, Doryichthys deokhatoides belongs to the Syngnathidae family.

 Pipefish flourish in water temperatures ranging from 75°F to 82°F (24°C to 28°C). Keeping the temperature stable within this range is essential for their well-being.

pH Level: They thrive in slightly acidic to neutral water, with a pH level between 6.5 and 7.5. Regular monitoring and adjustments of pH levels are important for maintaining ideal conditions.

Hardness: The preferred water hardness for Doryichthys deokhatoides is between 5 and 12 dGH. Consistent water parameters are key to reducing stress and ensuring their health.

Filtration: Gentle filtration is advisable since they are not strong swimmers and can easily become stressed by strong currents. A sponge filter or a low-flow filter system is ideal.

Water Quality: Clean water is crucial. It’s recommended to perform weekly water changes of 20-30% to maintain high water quality and prevent harmful substance accumulation.

Tank Setup: Tank Size: A minimum tank size of 20 gallons is suggested for a small group of Freshwater Pipefish. Larger tanks offer better stability and more room for exploration.

Substrate: Fine sand or smooth gravel is best for the tank bottom. Avoid sharp substrates that could harm their delicate bodies.
