Maximum Size: ~12–18 cm (5–7 inches)
Temperament: Semi‑aggressive predator

Crenicichla compressiceps is a small to medium-sized pike cichlid with:
- A long, torpedo-shaped body
- Laterally compressed head, giving the species its name
- Subtle patterning with fine spotting or mottling
- A more delicate, slender build compared to larger pike cichlids
This species is rare in the aquarium trade compared to more common pikes like C. saxatilis or C. regani.
