L306 Panaqolus claustellifer, also known as the Blood Red Tiger Pleco, is a striking and relatively rare species of wood-eating catfish from the Rio Branco drainage in Brazil and Guyana. 

 Species Overview

  • Scientific Name: Panaqolus claustellifer
  • Common Names: L306, LDA064, Blood Red Tiger Pleco
  • Size: Up to 10–13 cm (4–5 inches)
  • Lifespan: 8–12 years
  • Origin: Takutu and Branco Rivers, Amazon Basin

 Habitat & Tank Setup

  • Tank Size: Minimum 40 gallons for adults; 15 gallons for juveniles
  • Water Temperature: 25–29°C (77–84°F)
  • pH Range: 5.5–7.5
  • Hardness: 1–10 dGH
  • Substrate: Sand or fine gravel
  • Decor: Driftwood is essential (for feeding and shelter), caves, and shaded areas; plants may be nibbled
  • Filtration: Strong filtration with moderate to high flow and good oxygenation
