Description

Electric Blue Balloon Sailfin Molly is a stunning and selectively bred variety of Poecilia latipinna (Sailfin Molly), combining three distinct traits:

  1. Electric Blue Coloration – A vivid, iridescent blue hue that shimmers under aquarium lighting.
  2. Balloon Body Shape – A genetically modified, rounded body that gives the fish a "balloon-like" appearance.
  3. Sailfin Dorsal – A large, flowing dorsal fin that resembles a sail, especially prominent in males.
 Key Features:
  • Size: Typically 3–4 inches (7.5–10 cm)
  • Temperament: Peaceful and social; ideal for community tanks
  • Lifespan: 3–5 years with proper care
  • Sexual Dimorphism: Males have larger sailfins and are more colorful

Care Requirements:

  • Tank Size: Minimum 20 gallons for a small group
  • Water Conditions:
    • Temperature: 24–28°C (75–82°F)
    • pH: 7.0–8.5
    • Hardness: Moderate to hard water
  • Diet: Omnivorous – enjoys flakes, algae wafers, blanched vegetables, and live/frozen foods
  • Behavior: Active swimmers; best kept in groups of 3 or more
