Electric Blue Balloon Molly is a selectively bred variant of the Standard Molly, known for its balloon-shaped body, iridescent electric-blue coloration, and peaceful nature. Excellent for community tanks and popular with beginners, though their balloon body shape requires slightly more attentive care due to swim bladder strain.

Diet
Omnivorous with a strong herbivorous tendency. Offer:
- High-quality flakes/pellets

Avoid high-fat diets to preserve swim-bladder health.
Temperament & Tankmates
Peaceful and active. Ideal tankmates include:
- Platies
- Swordtails
- Guppies
- Corydoras
- Small rainbowfish
- Peaceful barbs (avoid fin-nippers)
Avoid: large cichlids, aggressive barbs, or anything prone to harassment.
Breeding
Livebearers — extremely easy to breed.
- Gestation: 4–6 weeks
- Females can store sperm for months
- Fry do best in:
- Dense floating plants
- Breeder nets
- Fine-leaved plants (hornwort, guppy grass)
Parents may eat fry — provide cover if raising.
Because of their rounded body shape:
- They are more prone to swim bladder issues
- Need stable water parameters
- Avoid overfeeding
- Keep strong aeration and consistent temperatures
