Description

The Green Dragon Short-Fin Ancistrus Pleco, also known as the Green Dragon Bristlenose Pleco, is a fascinating and hardy fish that’s great for both beginners and experienced aquarists. Here are some key points about this species:

  • Appearance: They have a dark olive to green-brown coloration. Mature males develop distinctive "bristles" on their faces which is a characteristic. of bristlenose plecos. 
  • Size: they typically grow to about 4-5" in length 
  • Care: These Plecos are easy to care for. They thrive in clean water with plenty of rocks and caves for hiding. They prefer a water temperature between 70-80 deg F and a ph of 6.5-7.5   
  • Diet: Their diet should mainly consist of vegetable-based foods like blanched vegetables (e.g., cucumber, green beans) or try the tried and proven treat for your pleco, PlecoCeramics High Protein Pleco Wafers with Spirulina 50g, occasionally they also enjoy treats of meaty frozen foods. 
  • Behavior: Green Dragon Plecos are peaceful and can coexist with many other freshwater species.
