Blue Eye Congo Tetra, also known as Phenacogrammus aurantiacus, is a stunning freshwater fish native to the Congo River Basin in Africa These fish are known for their vibrant blue eyes and shimmering bodies, which can range in color from orange to green

  • Size: They can grow up to 10 cm (about 4 inches) in length
  • Temperament: Peaceful and best kept in groups of six or more
  • Tank Conditions: They thrive in slightly acidic, soft water with temperatures between 22-27°C (72-82°F)
  • Diet: Omnivorous, feeding on a variety of foods including flakes, pellets, and live or frozen foods like brine shrimp and bloodworms 
  • Breeding: They are egg-scatterers and require a separate breeding tank with plenty of vegetation

These fish are a beautiful addition to any aquarium, especially when kept in a well-planted tank with subdued lighting to highlight their colors
