Hyphessobrycon cyanotaenia, commonly known as the Yellow Imperial Lapis Tetra, belongs to the large family Characidae or Characins. These small characins hail from Brazil.

- Size: Males reach around 3.3 cm, while females stay smaller at 2.8 cm.
