Green Jade Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi) are a vibrant and hardy freshwater shrimp species, popular among aquarists for their stunning emerald coloration and ease of care.

  • Size: 0.75 to 1.25 inches (up to 3 cm)
  • Lifespan: 1.5 to 2.5 years
  • Origin: Selectively bred from Red Cherry Shrimp; native to Taiwan and China.

Tank Setup

  • Tank Size: Minimum 10 gallons for a small colony; increase by 1 gallon per 2–5 additional shrimp.
  • Substrate: Dark substrate enhances their green coloration.
