Dumbo Halfmoon Betta is a stunning variety of Betta splendens, known for:

  • Oversized pectoral fins resembling elephant ears (hence the name "Dumbo").
  • A 180-degree tail spread forming a half-moon shape.
  • Vibrant colors ranging from solid reds and blues to marbled and dragon-scale patterns 

Care Guide

These bettas are moderately easy to care for but require attention to detail:

 Tank Setup

  • Minimum tank size: 5 gallons (larger preferred)
  • Water temperature: 72–81°F (ideal: 75°F)
  • pH level: 6.8–7.5
  • Water hardness: 5–20 GH
  • Filtration: Gentle flow to avoid stressing fins
  • Lighting: Moderate, with plants and smooth rocks for hiding 

 Diet

  • Carnivorous: Feed high-protein foods like brine shrimp, daphnia, mosquito larvae, and betta pellets.
  • Feeding schedule: 1–2 micro pellets twice daily; remove uneaten food promptly 

Temperament

  • Males are territorial and should be housed alone or with peaceful, non-fin-nipping tank mates like:
    • Corydoras catfish
    • Tetras
    • Snails
    • Shrimp
