Description

Denison Barb (Sahyadria denisonii), also known as the Roseline Shark or Red Line Torpedo Barb, is a vibrant and active freshwater fish native to the fast-flowing rivers of the Western Ghats in India. 


Species Overview

  • Scientific Name: Sahyadria denisonii
  • Common Names: Denison Barb, Roseline Shark, Red Line Torpedo Barb, Miss Kerala
  • Size: Up to 4.7 inches (12 cm)
  • Lifespan: Up to 5 years
  • Temperament: Peaceful but active; best kept in groups of 6+
  • Difficulty: Intermediate
