Description

Ruby Tetra (Axelrodia riesei) is a small, vibrant freshwater fish known for its striking red coloration. Native to the upper Río Meta basin in Colombia, these tetras are a beautiful addition to any aquarium.

Key Characteristics:


Size: They typically grow to about 1.2 to 1.4 inches (3 to 3.5 cm) in length.


Water Conditions: Ruby Tetras thrive in water temperatures between 20-28°C (68-82°F) and a pH range of 4.0 to 6.5


Diet: They are omnivores and will eat a variety of foods, including high-quality flakes, small live or frozen foods like brine shrimp and daphnia


Behavior: These tetras are peaceful and do well in community tanks. They are schooling fish and feel most comfortable in groups of six or more

Habitat:
In their natural habitat, Ruby Tetras are found in slow-moving, blackwater environments with plenty of vegetation. In an aquarium, they prefer a setup with a sandy substrate, driftwood, and leaf litter to mimic their natural surroundings,

 Care Tips:


Tank Size: A small group of Ruby Tetras can be kept in a tank of at least 15 gallons
Water Quality: Regular water changes and good filtration are important to maintain water quality and keep these fish healthy
