Red Cap Albino Veiltail Angelfish is a stunning and delicate freshwater fish, known for its ethereal appearance and graceful fins. 

Appearance & Traits

  • Species: Pterophyllum scalare (Albino variant)
  • Coloration: Snow-white or pale yellow body with a distinctive red cap and red eyes due to lack of melanin
  • Fins: Long, flowing veiltail fins that enhance its elegant look.
  • Size: Typically grows to 15–20 cm (6–8 inches) in height 

Tank Requirements

  • Tank Size: Minimum 30 gallons for one fish; taller tanks are preferred due to their vertical swimming style 
  • Water Parameters:
    • Temperature: 75–82°F (24–28°C)
    • pH: 6.0–7.5
    • Hardness: Soft to moderately hard (3–8 dGH)
  • Lighting: Moderate to subdued lighting to reduce stress and protect sensitive eyes 
  • Filtration: Gentle but efficient filtration is essential to maintain clean, calm water
  • Decor: Provide hiding spots with plants like Amazon swords or Java ferns; avoid sharp decorations
