Description

Green Neon Tetra (Paracheirodon simulans) is a beautiful and peaceful freshwater fish, often confused with its more popular relatives, the Neon Tetra and Cardinal Tetra. 

  • Appearance: They have a striking blue-green coloration with a less prominent red stripe compared to Neon Tetras
  • Size: They grow up to about 1 inch in length
  • Lifespan: Typically, they live for 2 to 3 years in captivity
  • Habitat: In the wild, they are found in the Amazon river basin, particularly in the Negro and Orinoco Rivers
  • Tank Requirements: They thrive in a well-planted tank with soft, acidic water and a minimum size of 10 gallons
  • Diet: They are omnivores and enjoy a varied diet of high-quality flake food, micro-pellets, and live or frozen foods like brine shrimp and daphnia
  • Behavior: Green Neon Tetras are peaceful and do well in community tanks with other non-aggressive fish

These fish are relatively easy to care for, making them a great choice for both beginners and experienced aquarists.
