Dead on Arrival (DOA) Policy – Shipped Orders Only
- We guarantee live arrival on all shipped livestock when:
- The package is received on the first delivery attempt.
- Clear photos of the unopened shipping bag and deceased animal are emailed to us within 2 hours of delivery confirmation.
- If these conditions are met, we will provide a replacement or store credit. Shipping charges are non-refundable.
7-Day Livestock Guarantee (Local & Shipped Orders)
- We guarantee our livestock for 7 days from purchase/delivery if our care recommendations and tank requirements were followed.
- Proof Required: We may require photos of the deceased animal, proof of purchase (receipt/order number), and/or a water sample from your tank for testing.
Livestock Refunds, Returns, & Surrenders
- Local customers may return livestock within 72 hours of purchase for a refund, provided the animal is alive and in original condition. Returns must be brought to the store; we do not provide pickup services.

Green Black Avatar Angelfish, also known as Pterophyllum scalare, is a popular and visually striking variant of the common angelfish. This variant is known for its unique green and black coloration, which becomes more pronounced as the fish matures
- Size: They can grow up to 6 inches (15 cm) in length
- Tank Requirements: They thrive in large, tall, planted aquariums with plenty of cover. A tank size of at least 90 gallons is recommended
- Water Parameters: They prefer a pH range of 6.0 to 7.5 and a temperature range of 78-84°F (26-28°C)
- Diet: They are carnivorous and will eat a variety of foods, including invertebrates, insects, frozen, and prepared feeds
- Behavior: While generally peaceful when young, they can become moderately aggressive towards each other as adults. They may also hunt and eat very small fish or invertebrates
These angelfish are known for their interesting personalities and can become quite territorial, especially during breeding times. They are also aggressive eaters and will often come to the top of the tank when they see you approach
