  1. Appearance:

    • The Blue Kerri Tetra exhibits vibrant blue coloring, which sets it apart from its wild phenotype.
    • While not considered the “Super Blue” strain, these tetras still display bluer than their wild counterparts.
    • They stay relatively small with a maximum size of of 1.5" 
    • Males can be distinguished by their blue adipose fin, while females have a red one.
  2. Behavior and Compatibility:

    • Blue Kerri Tetras are social creatures and should not be kept singly. Starting with a group of 6 to 12 individuals is recommended.
    • They are peaceful and make excellent community fish, coexisting harmoniously with other similarly sized tankmates.
  3. Habitat and Care:

    • Originating from the Aripuanã River in the upper Madeira River basin, Mato Grosso, Brazil, they thrive in soft acidic water.
    • While they’re not too picky about water parameters, providing soft, acidic conditions is essential if you want to encourage spawning.
    • There Tetras shine once they reach maturity so don't be fooled by their relatively bland juvenile appearance.
