Peugeot Tetra, scientifically known as Hyphessobrycon peugeoti, is a captivating species of tetra that has gained popularity among aquarium enthusiasts for its striking coloration and elegant appearance.

Origin: Native to the midsections of the Rio Juruena drainage within the upper Rio Tapajós Basin in Brazil

Size: They typically grow to a maximum size of about 4 cm (1.6 inches).
Lifespan: They can live up to 5 years with proper care1.
Tank Requirements: They thrive in well-planted aquariums with soft, acidic water conditions. They prefer temperatures between 75°F to 82°F (23°C to 27°C).
Diet: Omnivorous, they require a balanced diet of both plant-based and protein-rich foods. In captivity, high-quality flake foods or micro pellets, supplemented with live or frozen foods like daphnia, brine shrimp, and bloodworms, are ideal.
Behavior: Peaceful and social, they do well in groups of six or more. They may show minor aggression towards slower-moving companions.

These fish are relatively easy to care for and make a beautiful addition to community tanks with other gentle species.
