Black Venezuelan Corydora (Corydoras schultzei) is a popular freshwater aquarium fish known for its striking black coloration and peaceful nature. Despite its name, this variant was actually cultivated by German aquarists in the 1990s.

Bred and Supplied by PlecoCeramics in the Ukraine. 

  • Care Level: Beginner to Intermediate
  • Temperament: Peaceful and sociable
  • Diet: Omnivorous (sinking pellets, live/frozen foods, algae wafers)
  • Water Conditions: 72-78°F, pH 6.0-7.5
  • Max Size: 2.5 to 3 inches
  • Minimum Tank Size: 20 gallons
  • Lifespan: Up to 5-7 years 

These fish thrive in groups and enjoy plenty of hiding spaces like caves or driftwood. They are excellent bottom feeders and help maintain the balance of the aquarium ecosystem.
