Albino Corydora Hi-Fin "Sailfin" 3-4cm

Description

The Albino Corydoras, also known as Albino Corydora Hi-Fin or Albino Sailfin Corydoras, belong to the Corydoras genus within the family Callichthyidae. These fish are a variant of the Corydoras aeneus species, displaying an albino coloration. They are a popular choice among aquarists due to their peaceful nature and interesting behavior.

  1. Temperature: Albino Corydoras thrive in a tropical aquarium environment with temperatures ranging from 72°F to 78°F (22°C to 26°C).

  2. Minimum Tank Size: Ideally, a tank of at least 20 gallons or more is recommended for a small group of Albino Corydoras, as they prefer to be kept in a group rather than alone.

Feeding Habits: These fish are omnivores, and they will readily accept a varied diet. They enjoy a diet that includes high-quality sinking pellets or wafers, frozen or live foods like bloodworms, brine shrimp, and occasionally blanched vegetables.

Habitat Preference: Albino Corydoras originate from South America and are commonly found in slow-moving rivers, tributaries, and streams. They prefer a tank with plenty of hiding spaces like plants, driftwood, and rocks. A substrate that won't injure their sensitive barbels is recommended, like fine sand.

Water pH Level: They prefer slightly acidic to neutral water conditions with a pH range between 6.0 to 7.5.

Behavior: Albino Corydoras are peaceful and sociable bottom-dwelling fish. They are very active and spend a lot of time scavenging the bottom of the tank for food. They're known for their amusing behavior and can be seen darting around the tank in short bursts.

Schooling: These fish prefer being in a group and feel more secure when kept in a school of at least 6 individuals or more. A larger group helps reduce stress and promotes their natural behavior.

Color and Other Details: The Albino Corydoras has a pale or white body due to the absence of melanin, displaying the characteristic pink or red eyes. They have a high fin that extends prominently, giving them a distinctive appearance. Their fins can have a slight pinkish hue. Their underbelly and fins are translucent. When in optimal conditions, their coloration can appear vibrant and attractive.

Overall, Albino Corydoras are a delightful addition to a community aquarium. They are easy to care for and are an excellent choice for aquarists of all experience levels due to their peaceful nature and fascinating behavior.
